15 year old Robie lives at a research station on Midway island, a wildlife refuge. She doesn't have much of a social life but she knows a lot about wildlife. She needs to use all her knowledge when her flight crashes and she survives on her own in the ocean. I loved this book and found myself routing for Robie with each new challenge.
